The Statistics Tab

This tabs presents statistics about the current contents of the JobCert Log. Entries in the log (i.e. jobs you have caused to be logged either by pressing the Log Button on the JobCert Summary Form or by sending an email) may have actions against them. You can enter Actions against a job you have logged by using the JobCert Summary form and pressing the Update Log button.

The Numbers

Number of Jobs in Log
This is the total number of jobs in the Log, i.e. the number of rows minus one for the heading row.
Number of Jobs Active
This is the number of jobs against which you have added at least one action, excluding any jobs you have closed. When viewing the Log via the JobCert Summary Form, the Update Log Button displays yellow for active jobs:
Number of Jobs Closed
This is the number of jobs you have set as being closed by checking the Closed checkbox in the Log History Form. When viewing the Log via the JobCert Summary Form, the Update Log Button displays red for closed jobs:

You can set a job to Closed to remind you that all activity against the job has terminated, e.g. the job has been filled or your application was unsuccessful. After a suitable time has elapsed and you are sure that the job has gone, you can delete it by selecting it from the Closed tab.

Number of Jobs Open
This is the number of jobs in the Log which are neither active nor closed, i.e. those jobs against which you have entered no actions.

Selecting The Period

When the form is initially displayed, the Today radio button is selected, meaning that the period starting from today and running for seven days will be used to determine whether jobs have actions due within "This Period" or fall into the "Next Period". Selecting one of the other options simply gives you a head-up view of which jobs have actions coming up over the period you select.

Remember that overdue actions always use today's date as the reference date.

The Dates

These change automatically depending upon the period you have selected.

The Due This Period Tab

This displays the jobs which have an action, the due date of which falls within the dates of this period indicated on the right hand side of the Statistics tab. If a job has several actions logged against it, the earliest date is used to determine if it falls within this category.

The Due Next Period Tab

This displays the jobs which have an action, the due date of which falls within the dates of the next period indicated on the right hand side of the Statistics tab. If a job has several actions logged against it, the earliest date is used to determine if it falls within this category.

The Actions Overdue Tab

This displays the jobs which have an action, the due date of which is later than today's date, regardless of the This Period and Next Period dates you have chosen. If a job has several actions logged against it, the earliest date is used to determine if it falls within this category.

The All Actions Complete Tab

This displays the jobs which have all actions checked as being complete in the Log History Form. The Completed date is the date of the latest update to the job.

The Closed Tab

This displays the jobs which have the Closed checkbox ticked in the Log History Form. The Date Closed is assumed to be the date of the latest update to the job.

The View Log Button

This takes you directly to a display of the Log using the JobCert Summary Form.

See the next section relating to managing Log History information for background on how you can add and display actions against a specific job.
